Late Saturday, December 16, 2006A never-give-up attitude took the Oilers to the brink of another victory, but Westlake survived in a 35-32 win over Pearland. You've had a great season, Oilers, and we're proud of every one of you.

Saturday, December 16, 2006It's game day at Kyle Field - The Pearland Oilers meet the Westlake Chaparrals in College Station today at 2pm in the state semifinal contest. The winner advances to the state 5A title game against either Southlake Carroll or Allen, who play today at 1pm at Texas Stadium.
Sunday, December 10, 2006Wow! I don't know what else to say. Pearland overcame Cy-Fair in a tight defensive battle yesterday at Rice Stadium. Final score: 16-15. Read what the Houston Chronicle had to say about the game. Game photos are here and photo prints can be ordered online.

Friday (morning), November 24, 2006The Pearland Oilers again meet North Shore in the playoffs, this time at Reliant Stadium. Photos will be posted as soon as possible, hopefully by noon Saturday. Additional photos from the Dulles playoff game will also be posted sometime Saturday.

Sunday, November 3, 2006It was Pearland over Galveston Ball, 41 to 14, Friday night. Game photos are in the Pearland Oilers section of the website.
By popular request you can now order prints and other products adorned with a photo of your favorite player - photo mugs, t-shirts, mouse pads and photo buttons.
So far only the Ball High and Alvin game photos are in the online ordering system but over the next two days I will be adding all the other game photos from this season. Let me know via our Contact page if there are other print sizes or photo finish types - luster, matte or metallic - in addition to glossy, or other photo products that you'd like to have available.

Monday, October 23, 2006The Oilers secured their first district win last Friday night against a well-prepared Clear Creek squad. Both teams played hard but Pearland prevailed in an exciting game that saw Fozzy Whittaker rush for a team record 415 yards. Game photos are here.

Saturday, September 2, 2006Ed and Patti and I went first to the north jetty, then eight miles or so out to a small rig for some pretty exciting catches. The highlight was a 43½-lb, 55-inch long Ling. Check it out on the fishing page.
Tuesday, August 29, 2006Once all of our existing photo albums (in the list to the left) have been changed to accept viewer comments, we'll be adding back many of the photos that were on our old site. Right now I'm working on For the Birds. Look for more photos tomorrow, some old, some new.
Putting in the viewer comments feature is breaking some hyperlinks here and there within our site, but they'll be fixed as we find them.
A page called Old News has been added as a place to put the older items that were moving the bottom of this one farther and farther down - a purely cosmetic change to keep this page reasonably short.
Starting tomorrow only photo updates to the site will be reported here - no more technical website admin stuff.

Reorganizing
I've been reminded by a couple of nears and dears
that my pix-posting rate is way too low - true, I admit -
so look for a photo flood next week, as well as a little reorganization.
I'm dropping the so-called "Only the Latest" category. The photos there have out-lived the name, so they're destined to retire into whatever other category (in the list to the left) is appropriate. I'm not sure right now what new categories, if any, will take its place, so I'm open to suggestions.

David and Camille threw a beach-house party for Sydney~Riley Golf Tournament volunteers. A great time was had by all. Photos are in Family Snapshots.

Sunday, April 2, 2006Texas Destinations, For the Birds, and Photo Art are now up, although the photos are the same ones that were on our old website. I will continue posting our old galleries just to have something up, rather than wait until we put together new galleries. After I've completed working on a new website for a friend of ours (should be done with that by April 15), I'll be able to devote more time to updating our photo galleries.
Most of the gallery links in the list on the left side of the page don't work yet, as you may have noticed. Rather than simply re-post what we had up on the site's previous incarnation, we are starting fresh, using some already-seen photos but adding many new ones too.
The Contact page isn't up yet and will probably be one of the last to be finished.
The page containing background information about the photo galleries, found by clicking the The Galleries link under the "About . . ." heading on the left, is only partially complete. It needs some graphics and a lot more text.
I can't guarantee there aren't any spelling or other textual errors, or that all the graphics and links are in perfect working order . . . in other words there is still plenty of work to do before we can say the website is "finished."
Changes and updates are ongoing, so check in often!
