So What is This About?

Sit back and relax while exploring a little corner of the universe as we see it through a camera's lens . . .

In observing the world around us with an eye for the beauty in nature, for those rare and fleeting moments when we see something we've never before experienced, it may seem contrary to common sense to substitute for one's own eyes a man-made contrivance of glass and metal and plastic. But it's neither the eye nor the camera that is important; one's perception, appreciation, of the natural world, is the province of the soul - the eye and camera merely its tools.

So What is This About?

Texas flora, fauna, and landscapes dominate, spiced with images of the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, and western Ireland. Various other states of the union are represented, along with photos of our favorite high school football teams, the Dawson Eagles and Pearland Oilers. Family photos are here too, in their own password-protected area.

We have not scanned the many hundreds of 35mm neagatives and slides we produced during the thirty or so years preceding the digital era, so the photos here are no older than about three years.

The immediate feedback of digital photography - not having to wait, not to mention pay, for rolls of film to be developed - brought us back to photography, as it did for many film camera owners. It's great fun, and we hope some of our pleasure in making these images comes through to those who explore them here.
